Build a new part number

Each sheet offers the classes in its own title. Table I of MIL-DTL-83723H gives each class's shell material, finish and temperature rating.

Picking an insert arrangement above sets this automatically — or choose a shell size here first to narrow the arrangement picker.

N is the normal position and is written in the part number. Positions 1 to 5 turn the insert and are inactive for new design; 6 to 9 and Y move the minor keys (MIL-STD-1554A figure 1). Shell size 8 has no 1 to 5 or Y.

    Parts list

Tick “Add to parts list” next to any part number above: the connector, its contacts, a mate or an accessory, as you build other connectors. Contact quantities are for one connector; edit the quantity for more. The list clears on reload — copy or download it before you leave the page.

    No parts yet.

Copy list gives part number, quantity and description separated by tabs, for a spreadsheet or a distributor’s paste-a-list form. The CSV has the same columns with a header row.

Check every part number and quantity against the current specification before you buy. Neither this site nor Newark is responsible for errors in generated part numbers; see Part numbers and purchases.
